As part of a pitch for a edutainment video for a hair-care client, we developed a highly detailed three-dimensional model of a human hair strand. The model was created to clearly and accurately illustrate the hair’s structure and its complex composition at a macro level.
The client specifically needed a visual explanation of how their products interact with the hair at both surface and internal levels. Rather than relying on static diagrams or abstract descriptions, they wanted a dynamic and scientifically grounded visual that could show, with clarity and impact, how formulations affect each layer and mechanism of the hair strand.
Each component was built as a flexible, modular asset, allowing it to be efficiently adapted to specific visual preferences and varying levels of visual complexity. Parameters such as shape, scale, and material properties can be adjusted with precision, ensuring both scientific accuracy and visual clarity.
The cuticle layer, for instance, can be dynamically visualized through dedicated opening and closing animations. This enables an intuitive, controlled demonstration of a product’s effects and underlying mechanisms, making even intricate processes easy to understand.
